~ Erin’s Mom
What can I say, it’s been an exciting journey! I’m a mom of a child that has trouble taking tests. On the first day, I met Ms. McKenzie to look at Erin’s prior SAT scores she felt pretty confident that Learn In Motion could teach Erin tips and tools that would make her successful in achieving her test scores. Ms. McKenzie advised that it wouldn’t happen immediately and that it would “be a journey.” So we embarked on the journey with Erin taking 3 sessions of verbal and 3 sessions of math. The big day arrived, SAT, on August 24th and her test scores increased from 1020 to 1080, but Erin wanted a score of 1170. (1170 would give her a 75% Bright Future Scholarship). I asked Erin if she wanted to take some additional sessions and Erin went back to Learning in Motion and took 2 more verbal sessions and 2 math sessions. Once again she took her SAT test and scored 1130, but not the 1170 she wanted. Ms. McKenzie again reminded us that it would be a journey. So once again, Erin decided to engage in 2 more verbal sessions and 2 more math sessions. Her testing date was November 2. We waited anxiously for the test results all the time I’m telling myself it is a journey. Erin made it! She will have a 75% Bright Futures Scholarship in the fall. Once again I need to remind you that she is not a strong test taker and so just achieving this accomplishment is huge. I can’t thank Ms. Amy, Mr. Norm and Ms. Mary for devoting their time each week to ensure Erin had the tools and tips to meet this goal. I want to thank Ms. McKenzie for always finding a slot in their schedules for Erin. If you want a place where your child can receive individualized tutoring, in a friendly safe environment, then I would highly recommend Learning in Motion.
